Who we are

Athaai (athaai.com) is a website about the culture, places and people of Bundelkhand, run by Athaai Media Pvt. Ltd., Jaisiyaram Bhavan, Jhansi Road, Talhbehat, Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh 284128, India. For any question about your information, write to newsletter@athaai.info.

What we collect

Newsletter: your email address, the language you signed up in (Hindi or English) and your consent to receive the newsletter.

Contribute form: your first and last name, your email address and/or phone number, the district (if you choose one), your topic and message, and your answers to the two consent boxes.

Visiting the site: our hosting provider processes your IP address to deliver pages and to protect the site from bots and abuse. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

To send you the newsletter you asked for; to read, review and reply to what you send us through Contribute; to credit you by name in a story, only if you ticked that box; and to keep the site secure.

Who processes it for us

Cloudflare hosts the site and runs its bot check. Brevo stores the subscriber list and sends the newsletter. Google Cloud Translation translates our own story text into Hindi; your personal details are not sent to it. We do not sell, rent or share your information for advertising.

What you send through Contribute

As you agree when submitting, the information you share through the Contribute form becomes the property of Athaai, which may edit and publish it. Your email address and phone number are never published. Your name is published only if you ticked the box allowing it.

How long we keep it

Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Contribute submissions: for as long as we need them to review and follow up, together with a record of your consent.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask to see, correct or delete your information, and you may withdraw your consent at any time. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. For anything else, or to raise a grievance, write to newsletter@athaai.info and we will respond promptly.

Children

If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before subscribing or sending us anything.
